Norwegian Cruise Line Takes Delivery of Norwegian Luna

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has officially taken delivery of the 21st ship in its fleet–Norwegian Luna. Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri delivered the Prima Plus Class ship during a ceremony in Marghera, Italy. 

Norwegian Luna is the second ship in the Prima Plus Class and weighs in at 156,000 gross tons. She will accommodate 3,565 passengers in 1,809 staterooms at double occupancy. She offers a variety of dining venues, bars and lounges, more experiences, immersive entertainment and lots of flexibility.

Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of Fincantieri’s Merchant Ships Division, stated, “We are proud to deliver Norwegian Luna, a ship that truly reflects our ability to interpret and anticipate the evolution of the global cruise industry. Norwegian Luna was designed with every traveler in mind. Families will enjoy the Aqua Slidecoaster, the all-new Luna Midway, the Moon Climber, The Luna Game Zone, and a Glow Court which transforms into a club at night. Adults will want to relax in the Mandra Spa or escape to the adults-only Vibe Beach Club.

Norwegian Luna is expected to debut new entertainment productions, and diverse dining options including the main dining room, The Indulge Food Hall. and specialty restaurants. She will also offer a variety of staterooms to accommodate everyone from the solo traveler, to couples and families as well as The Haven–NCL’s exclusive ship-within-a-ship concept. 

Norwegian Luna will sail a 14-day transatlantic voyage from Rome, Italy to Miami where she will make her grand debut. She will arrive at the Cruise Capital of the World on March 23, 2026 where she will be officially christened on March 27, 2026.
