Royal Caribbean has announced it will continue its Artist Discovery Program to the latest Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas. The program is designed to provide local, emerging artists the opportunity to showcase their work on a global stage. Artists across the Caribbean and Central America will have the chance to display their work to vacationers aboard Legend of the Seas.
“Our Artist Discovery Program is a testament to how Royal Caribbean creates culturally immersive experiences for guests, connecting vacationers of all ages with the destinations we visit around the world,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean. “We’re excited to expand the program to include emerging artists from Central America alongside the Caribbean and increase the number of locations for large-scale murals on Legend from four to six, creating more opportunities for artists to highlight the diverse destinations we visit through their work.”
Artists can submit their art for consideration from now through March 1, 2026. Selected artists will be commissioned to paint large murals in six highly visible locations across the ship. Locations include the Royal Promenade, the ship’s embarkation area, the Suite Sundeck Lobby, and Suite Sundeck. The program is designed to celebrate the spirit of the Caribbean and Central America.
The chosen artists will join featured artists on Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas, and the brand new exclusive destination Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau, the Bahamas. The Artist Discovery Program on Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas highlighted Caribbean artists, while the program at Royal Beach Club Paradise Island highlighted Bahamian talent.
Legend of the Seas will begin sailing 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome, Italy, in 2026. In November 2026, she will make her Caribbean debut from Fort Lauderdale sailing 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean voyages.
Interested artists must submit five original samples of conceptual work; a brief artist statement explaining their work, inspiration, and other details; and a copy of their resume.
