Cruise News Digest–February 8, 2026

This week, we explored Princess Cruises’ largest class in the fleet with seven ships, the Grand ClassRuby Princess (2008), Emerald Princess (2007), Crown Princess (2006), Caribbean Princess (2004), Sapphire Princess (2004), Diamond Princess (2004) and Grand Princess (1998).

MSC Cruises announced it is adding its MSC Yacht Club to two additional ships–MSC Musica and MSC Orchestra. Once completed, the entire Musica class will feature the ship-within-a-ship concept.

Two Cunard Queens reunited in Long Beach for the first time in 20 years this week. In a once-in-a-lifetime moment, Queen Mary 2 anchored just off the coast of Long Beach, California to rendezvous with her namesake, Queen Mary, who is celebrating her 90th anniversary.

MSC Cruises has partnered with marine conservation organization ORCA for its inaugural Alaska season this summer. The partnership will include an ORCA MMO aboard MSC Poesia during peak whale season from late July through late August 2026–one of the most whale-populous periods in Alaska.

For the first time, Carnival Cruise Line is bringing double the fun to the Port of Baltimore. The cruise line is adding a second ship in Baltimore for the 2027/28 season–Carnival Miracle. She will join her sister ship, Carnival Pride, which will continue to sail year-round from the port. 

Holland America Line has announced new 2027-2028 voyages aboard Koningsdam, Eurodam, and Zaandam. The ships will sail between April 2027 and October 2028 from five separate homeports throughout the United States taking guests to Hawaii, Mexico, the Panama Canal, and the Pacific Coast.
