Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the name of its next Prima Plus class ship–Norwegian Aura. She will be the longest and largest vessel in the NCL fleet and homeport in Miami beginning in June 2027 after she debuts in Europe in May 2027.
Norwegian Aura will sail a single 7-night Mediterranean sailing from Trieste to Barcelona on May 21, 2027, followed by a 14-night transatlantic cruise to PortMiami. From PortMiami, she will sail 7-night Caribbean itineraries with ports of call in Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Her Eastern Caribbean itineraries will visit Great Stirrup Cay while her Western Caribbean itineraries will visit Harvest Caye in Belize.
Norwegian Aura will be nearly 1,130 feet long and weigh 168,000 gross tons making her 10% larger than Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. She will accommodate 3,840 guests at double occupancy in her 1,976 staterooms which includes 159 rooms in The Haven.
“We are proud to introduce the newest, and largest, addition to our fleet, Norwegian Aura,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “Norwegian Aura represents the evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line and the celebration of bringing together families, friends and travelers from around the world. With brilliance and connection at her core, the ship was created to give all guests the freedom to vacation their very own way – offering the chance to exhale, connect and effortlessly escape into the moment. We look forward to this next milestone and can’t wait for guests to experience all that Norwegian Aura has to offer.”
Norwegian Aqua will blend guests’ favorites with all new experiences. One of those new experiences is the multi-generational family friendly Ocean Heights. The complex spans decks 18 to 21 and houses brand-new attractions along with reimagined favorites. The space will have five waterslides including the dueling mat racer slides Eclipse Racers, the drop-in body waterslide Aura Free Fall, the raft attraction that carries up to four guests The Wave, and the guest favorite The Drop. There will also be an 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, a rock climbing wall, Aura Midway, a 9-hole mini golf course, and so much more.
The signature Prima Class outdoor promenade, Ocean Boulevard, will be located on deck 8 and wrap around the entire ship. At 11% larger, the space will offer more seating, new activities and amenities, new hot tubs, a new bar, and a larger Infinity Beach with day beds and wading pools. Also, Ocean Boulevard will house the Little Explorer’s Cove playground for cruisers aged two to six, the Adventure Alley space for cruisers aged six to ten, and the Teen Hangout.
Norwegian Cruise Line is known for its hull art design and Norwegian Aura will be no exception. Her hull design is created by international artist Rosie Woods who is known for her large-scale murals and work with global brands. Her design for the hull showcases celestial light and bioluminescent seas while interpreting how light interacts with water.
Speaking of her work on Norwegian Aura, Rosie Woods said, “I’m thrilled to partner with Norwegian Cruise Line, who has been known for showcasing beautiful, cutting-edge hull art designs. I’m so excited to see my large-scale piece of artwork come to life, sail across the seas and illuminate day and night.”
Bookings for Norwegian Aura are now open.
