Holland America Line has partnered with heritage Pacific Northwest lifestyle brand Pendleton Woolen Mills to create an onboard keepsake that celebrates Alaska Statehood Day and looks forward to America’s 250th Anniversary. The custom-designed, numbered Alaska-themed throw blanket is inspired by the beauty of the Great Land and is sold exclusively to guests sailing in the region in 2026.
Both Holland America Line and Pendleton Woolen Mills have deep ties to Alaska. Their collaboration brings together Pendleton’s textile heritage and HAL’s commitment to Alaska cruising. The blend of craftsmanship, storytelling and exploration creates a keepsake that “reflects both the journey and the destination.”
“As we mark Alaska Statehood Day and look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary, we are thrilled to bring together American heritage brands to celebrate the shared spirit of ingenuity, honored traditions, and craftsmanship,” said Kacy Cole, Holland America Line’s chief marketing officer. “Pendleton was the perfect brand to partner with on Alaska, having been founded in 1909 and bringing milled textiles to the pioneer days of the great American West.”
Reflecting the grandeur of Alaska, the blanket is described as “a striking panorama of rugged peaks, towering forests and vast skies, accented by iconic wildlife — a moose, whale and eagle — beneath the shimmering Northern Lights.” The color palette is deep ocean blues and Holland America Line’s signature orange with accents of gray, yellow, brown and natural neutrals.
“This limited-edition throw is a reflection of Pendleton’s legacy of craftsmanship and weaving storied landscapes through our designs,” said Bob Christnacht, EVP of Sales and Marketing at Pendleton. “Our partnership with Holland America Line is a natural fit — rooted in our shared connection to Alaska and a long-standing commitment to honoring place, history and craft.”
Holland America Line has been exploring Alaska for nearly 80 years, which is longer than Alaska has been a state. The cruise line offers immersive cruises and cruisetours in the region, providing more ways to view the beautiful glaciers and wildlife than any other cruise line.
Holland America Line is marking America’s 250th Anniversary with a variety of collaborations to be unveiled as the milestone approaches. Guests who want to celebrate the occasion with Holland America Line can book the cruise line’s “America 250th Celebration: Stars and Stripes Cruise” that departs Boston, Massachusetts, on July 4, 2026. The itinerary includes a late-night departure from Boston, allowing guests to view the historic fireworks, a call to Norfolk, Virginia, and an overnight stay in New York.
