Cruise Ship Monday
Today brings us Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway Plus-class–Norwegian Encore (2019), Norwegian Bliss (2018), Norwegian Joy (2017) and Norwegian Escape (2015).
Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway Plus-Class ships are the cruise line’s largest ships taking the top four spots in the fleet with Norwegian Encore being the largest. Guests who are looking for a lot of variety on their cruise ship, will find the Breakaway Plus Class fits their style of cruising. There is so much to see and do, guests will not be able to discover it all on a single 7-day cruise.
Norwegian Escape debuted first and introduced the expanded Breakaway Plus design. While it does feature a ropes course and two-lane duckpin bowling, it does not have some of the features of the other three ships. The other ships, Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Bliss, and Norwegian Encore, also feature an electric go-kart track, a laser tag arena, and an indoor virtual reality arcade, the Galaxy Pavilion. Each ship also has a large Aqua Park with multiple water slides.
Each ship has about 20 different dining options, but they vary from ship to ship. Norwegian Escape is home to Moderno Churrascaria and Pincho Tapas Bar, while Norwegian Encore is home to Onda by Scarpetta. Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Encore each include a barbeque restaurant, Q, and a Mexican venue, Los Lobos. Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Joy each offer a seafood restaurant, Ocean Blue, while Norwegian Escape offers Bayamo by Ocean Blue, which features a different menu. Each ship also features The Waterfront, an open-air promenade which features various restaurants and bars.
Each of the ships feature different Broadway-style shows in their theaters. Currently showing onboard Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Encore is Choir of Man, Norwegian Joy is featuring Elements, and Norwegian Bliss is offering Jersey Boys.
The Haven, the ultimate luxury cruise private enclave, can be found onboard all four Breakaway Plus Class ships. The Haven is a keycard-holder-only all-suite section of the ship. Guests in The Haven will enjoy a private bar and lounge, restaurant, sundeck and courtyard. Additionally, the services of a concierge and butler are included for Haven guests, as well as, priority embarkation, debarkation, show seating, and dining reservations.
Tony was aboard Norwegian Bliss at the invitation of Norwegian Cruise Line about a year ago and stayed in The Haven. One of the four videos recorded for the cruise line gave 8 Reasons to Choose The Haven.
Norwegian Encore is currently sailing 7-day roundtrip Caribbean voyages out of Miami, Norwegian Bliss is currently sailing out of Los Angeles and offering 7-day roundtrip Mexican Riviera itineraries, Norwegian Joy is offering 3- to 7-day roundtrip Caribbean or Bahamas itineraries out of Miami, and Norwegian Escape is sailing 7-day roundtrip Caribbean voyages out of New Orleans.
