Celebration Key Welcomes 1,000,000th Guest

Celebration Key welcomed guests from Carnival Vista on July 19, 2025. On December 18, 2025, just five months later, Carnival Vista visited Celebration Key with the private destination’s one millionth guest, Andrew Sexton.

Sailing on their first ever cruise, Andrew Sexton, his wife, Savannah, their three daughters and extended family were welcomed by a Junkaboo band in true Celebration Key style. The family, which is from Knoxville, Tennessee, enjoyed a private cabana, complimentary food and beverages, unlimited access to the waterslides—even Santa made an appearance.  

“Both local residents who have benefited from the job creation and our guests have embraced Celebration Key from the very first day, and this milestone underscores an exciting chapter for us in The Bahamas,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We’re proud to lay the foundation for long-term growth and a positive impact in the region, while creating something truly special for our guests.”

Celebration Key has been a major benefit to the Grand Bahama community. Carnival has made a positive economic impact on the community as It has created more than 1,000 local jobs, while partnering with 58 Bahamian-owned companies. During construction, the cruise line hired 29 Bahamian construction companies which boasts of 96% Bahamian workers.

Since its opening, Celebration Key has served more than 500,000 complimentary Island Eats meals and 600,000 drinks. More than 3,600 guests have chosen the parasailing excursion and viewed the private destination from above. More than 49,000 guests have enjoyed the water slides, while more than 16,000 premium amenities have been booked.

Currently, 20 Carnival ships from ten US homeports call on Celebration Key. The cruise line will complete its pier expansion by summer 2026, and expects to welcome four million guests by 2028.
