Norwegian Cruise Line has announced details about the entertainment coming on its newest ship, Norwegian Luna. The in-house productions, “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John” and “HIKO” are scheduled to premiere when Norwegian Luna begins sailing in March 2026.
“Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John” will be a “dazzling, hit-filled tribute to the legendary icon.” The concert-style production promises to captivate audiences of all ages as it features well-known hits like “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” and more. Additionally, the show celebrates the multi-award winner’s career as it uses “elements of Elton’s rich archive of footage and imagery.”
“Norwegian Cruise Line has a proud history of revolutionizing entertainment at sea—from pioneering Broadway-caliber onboard productions to continuously creating original, only-on-NCL experiences,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “As a lifelong music fan, I’m especially excited to celebrate the work of Elton John, an icon whose influence spans generations, with a show that is as dynamic and unforgettable as the artist himself. With Norwegian Luna, we’re building on that tradition by delivering spectacular new productions and immersive programming designed to surprise and delight our guests.”
Norwegian Luna will also showcase a brand-new, completely original sci-fi show that mixes Cirque artistry with mixed reality visuals called, “HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder.” The show will transport guests to a futuristic world where they will meet an original character, HIKO, which includes an interactive meet-and-greet experience. The show includes four elite gymnasts performing “gravity-defying acts against a backdrop of mesmerizing visuals.”
Kids will love the brand-new interactive “Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival” designed to engage the curious and inspire the creative. The show is a first-of-its-kind experience developed by the cruise line specifically for children that follows an “inquisitive fish on an interactive adventure.”
Norwegian Luna will also debut “LunaTique”–an exclusive production inspired by the Vegas nightlife for guests 21 and over. With the success of “Syd Norman’s Presents: Rumours,” Norwegian Luna is debuting “Syd Norman’s Presents: A Tribute to Eagles” featuring classic 70’s rock anthems on the mainstage of the Luna Theater.
“Creating the entertainment lineup for Norwegian Luna has been an incredible and fulfilling journey,” added Bryan White, vice president of entertainment production at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “We’re fortunate to partner with the most innovative and respected creators in the industry, so we can keep raising the bar and giving our guests the world-class entertainment NCL is known for. From captivating tribute concerts to awe-inspiring original productions, our lineup has something for guests of all ages, delivering unforgettable experiences for everyone aboard.”
Syd Norman’s Pour House is being upgraded to include a 90s throwback music set and Live Band Karaoke. Finally, two brand new themed parties –Island Nights and Latin LIVE!–featuring live bands, dancers and percussionists will debut on Norwegian Luna’s pool deck.
Norwegian Luna will sail her inaugural season throughout the Caribbean and Bermuda. She will call on ports like Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Puerto Plata, Tortola, and St. Thomas as well as the cruise line’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, which will soon debut a brand new Great Tides Waterpark.
