Cruise Ship Monday–Disney Cruise Line Global Class

In 2022, Disney Cruise Line had acquired one of the Global Class ships under construction at the MV Werften Shipyard in Germany being built by shipbuilder Meyer Werft for the now bankrupt Genting Hong Kong. The unfinished Global Dream has since been reimagined into Disney Adventure. She will begin sailing “cruises to nowhere” from Singapore in March 2026–delayed from December 2025

Disney Adventure is the only ship in the cruise line’s Global class and is very different from its other ship classes. Disney Adventure is the largest of the Disney fleet and the first to homeport in Asia. She has a capacity of more than 6,000 passengers and will be powered by methanol. Disney Adventure will offer distinct themed zones: Disney Imagination Garden, Disney Discovery Reef, San Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square, Marvel Landing and Toy Story Place.

While the ship is yet to debut, Disney Cruise LIne has revealed some information about Disney Adventure. When guests board Disney Adventure they will find seven uniquely themed areas each one with incredible characters and memorable experiences.

Drawing on Disney’s power of imagination, Disney Imagination Garden forms the heart of Disney Adventure. The venue is an enchanted valley, charming garden and open-air space all in one. It will be the gateway to every guest’s journey. Sitting in “the creative heart” of the ship, is a 186-foot storybook castle–a first-of-its-kind art piece on a Disney ship.

In the spirit of discovery, Disney Discovery Reef will showcase shopping and dining areas for families to explore. The reef area features aquatic favorites from The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo and Luca. Inspired by Big Hero 6, San Fransokyo Street is a family entertainment venue filled with interactive games and activities, theaters, and more. At Wayfinder Bay, guests will step into an open-air oasis where they can relax and enjoy stunning views of the sea and the sky as well as the artistry of Moana’s Pacific Islands.

The magic of fantasy celebrates Disney royals in Town Square. This forest is filled with shops, restaurants and entertainment venues showcasing beloved films such as Cinderella, Frozen, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

For those guests who want an Avengers-level adventure, fans will want to check out Marvel Landing. The space will celebrate superheroes and villains with new attractions and experiences. Guests looking for an interactive play space with themed food venues and water play areas will want to visit Toy Story Place where the world of Pixar comes to life.

Making its Disney Cruise Line debut is the Marvel Style Studio. Children (and adults) will have the opportunity to transform their style like their favorite Marvel character. Styling packages include Marvel-inspired hair, clothing and makeup with Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider, Captain America, Captain Marvel or Thor as the inspiration. When not in use for styling, the salon itself will be transformed into an adults-only lounge with beverage tasting experiences.

Also debuting on Disney Adventure are the beloved characters from Duffy and Friends. They will be featured in a brand-new stage show, “Duffy and The Friend Ship,” which follows Tippy Blue, Duffy and Friends on an imaginary adventure exploring the seas. Guests will want to complete the Duffy and Friends Discovery Quest–a scavenger hunt which begins at the Duffy and Friends Shop and ends with a unique commemorative gift. Finally, Duffy and his friends will be available for meet-and-greets and photos.

Debuting on the Disney Imagination Garden’s open-air Garden stage will be “Captain Jack Sparrow & The Siren Queen.” The show promises to be action-packed as guests are encouraged to dress in their best pirate attire and join the treasure hunting fun while battling a giant ink-squirting squid.

Guests who sail the Disney Adventure will be able to shop World of Disney, World of Disney Too, Duffy and Friends Shop, and the co-branded National Geographic Store. Additionally, concierge guests can shop a curated collection found at two exclusive spaces.

On September 1, 2025, Disney Adventure departed the Meyer Werft shipyard in Wismar, Germany for her sea trials. Days later, Disney Cruise Line announced it had made the “difficult decision to postpone the maiden voyage” of its newest ship. She will now sail her maiden voyage in March 2026. Following her maiden voyage, she will begin sailing 3- to 4-night “cruises to nowhere” for at least five years according to the cruise line’s agreement with the Singapore Tourism Board.
