Virgin Voyages Announces New Pricing Options

Virgin Voyages declared it is “once again shaking up the cruise industry” when it announced a new fare system called VoyageFair Choices. The new system is launching October 7, 2026, and will offer three different pricing tiers making the experience for its Sailors and First Mates even better.

The cruise line made the decision to move to the VoyageFair Choices pricing model in an effort to accomplish four goals: give Sailors better transparency, make fares easier to compare across the industry, offer more flexible and competitive options for different budgets, and respond to Sailors’ and advisors’ call for more choice.

Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said, “This isn’t about gimmicks or fine print. We’re making it easier to book a voyage with confidence while knowing that once you’re onboard, the experience is unmistakably Virgin: elevated and unforgettable.”

VoyageFair Choices offers three new pricing options for Sea Terrace and below cabins–Base, Essential, and Premium.

Base Fare is the lowest-priced option. This tier provides Basic WiFi for one device per Sailor (think social media and messaging), the option to make dining reservations 15 days before sailing, but no changes to names, cabins or voyage dates. This option is ideal for Sailors and First Mates who are certain of their cruising plans.

Essential Fare is most like the cruise line’s current pricing model. This tier provides Classic WiFi for one device per Sailor (includes browning and audio calls), the option to make dining reservations 45 days before sailing, and the choice to change voyage dates using a Future Voyage Credit. Sailors may also change the names of Sailors Two through Four.

Premium Fare is the cruise line’s top tier. This tier provides Premium WiFi for two devices per Sailor (includes streaming and video capabilities), the option to make dining reservations 60 days before sailing, an included Bar Tab, and pre-voyage priority booking support.

Sailors who book RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters will see one important upgrade–the option to make dining reservations 120 days before sailing. All previous benefits remain unchanged.

Virgin Voyages new pricing model is also changing how gratuities are displayed. Currently, gratuities are bundled into fares. With VoyageFair Choices, gratuities will be displayed as a separate line item showing clearly how they are being distributed. Sailors can choose to pre-pay at a rate of $20 per Sailor per night, or settle onboard at $22 per Sailor per night.

Virgin Voyages made clear, Always Included Luxury, the heart of the Virgin Voyages experience, is not changing.
