In 2027, Holland America Line will celebrate 80 years of sailing in Alaska. The cruise line will offer more than 100 cruises in the region to commemorate the milestone. Also featured are enhancements to the cruise line’s Cruisetour experiences which allow guests to explore the Last Frontier by sea and by land.
“As we approach our 80th year exploring the Great Land, we’re proud to offer cruises and Cruisetours that deepen our legacy of expertise and enrich every guest’s experience,” said Dan Rough, vice president of revenue management for Holland America Line. “From tasting locally sourced seafood and engaging with park rangers at Glacier Bay, to watching bears roam under the guidance of wildlife experts — our Alaska cruises and Cruisetours are crafted to be unforgettable.”
During the 2027 Alaska season, Holland America Line will deploy six ships–Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zaandam–to the region. The ships will sail a variety of itineraries that will range from seven to 28 days. Guests can sail roundtrip from Seattle, Vancouver or British Columbia; or between Vancouver and Anchorage, Alaska.
The cruise line’s “We Love Alaska” program is returning with enrichment opportunities through authentic onboard programming including lectures, workshops and regional cuisine. Additionally, Holland America Line will offer more than 175 shore excursions, including a new Reindeer Encounter.
Holland America Line will offer a new 8-day “Alaska Inside Passage” from Vancouver aboard Koningsdam or Zaandam. The journey will sail through the Inside Passage, visit Glacier Bay, include a late-night stay in Juneau and call on Skagway, Ketchikan and British Columbia’s Prince Rupert.
The popular 28-day “Legendary Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice” sailing will embark on June 6. Travellers aboard Noordam will enjoy a journey through the Bering Sea into the Arctic Circle for the summer solstice. The ships will call on 11 Alaska ports, Prince Rupert and Vancouver. Along the way, guests will enjoy an overnight stay in Anchorage and late-night stays in Juneau and Valdez as well as scenic cruising through the Inside Passage and Great Bear Rainforest.
Other sailings include 7-day “Alaska Inside Passage” itineraries from Vancouver aboard Koningsdam and Zaandam, 7-day “Alaska Explorer” itineraries from Seattle aboard Eurodam and Noordam, and 7-day “Northbound Glacier Discovery” and “Southbound Glacier Discovery” itineraries between Anchorage and Vancouver aboard Nieuw Amsterdam and Westerdam.
Travellers looking for longer sailings will enjoy the 14-day “Great Alaska Explorer” itinerary from Seattle aboard Noordam or the 18-day “Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer” itinerary aboard Zaandam from Vancouver. Each of the “Great Bear Rainforest” cruises are also ideal for travellers who want to combine Alaska with its wildlife and the rugged nature of British Columbia. The 7-day “Great Bear Rainforest” cruise embarks from Seattle aboard Noordam.
Every Alaska cruise aboard a Holland America Line ship includes opportunities for glacier viewing–more than any other cruise line. Itineraries may include Glacier Bay National Park, College Fjord, Dawes Glacier, Hubbard Glacier or Twin Sawyer Glaciers of Tracy Arm.
Bookings for the 2027 Alaska season are open now, and Cruisetours will be available to book later this fall. Of course there are always discounts and perks to booking early, so be sure to check those out.
