Royal Caribbean Celebrates 100 Million Cruise Guests

Royal Caribbean officially welcomed 100 million cruise guests in July 2025. The cruise line celebrated the milestone with a surprise celebration aboard Icon of the Seas

For more than 50 years, Royal Caribbean has been offering memorable vacations to millions of families. The cruise line was founded in Norway in 1968 and launched its first ship from Miami, Song of Norway, on November 7, 1970. Since that date, Royal Caribbean has been offering unforgettable vacations on “game-changing ships to exclusive destinations.” Currently, the cruise line sails a fleet of 29 ships to more than 300 destinations in 80 countries across all seven continents, including its private destination in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Families have created memories of a lifetime as they have sailed with more than 1.26 million children who have completed more than 20,000 family activities, competed in more than a half million bumper car battles and enjoyed 276,367 ice skating sessions.

Adventure-seeking guests have climbed the rock wall 1.25 million times, walked the Crown’s Edge 29,900 times, plunged down the Ultimate Abyss 544,889 times and visited the Thrill Waterpark 1.21 million times. Guests have sipped almost 3 million piña coladas and eaten over 11 million ice cream cones.

Royal Caribbean’s world class entertainment has wowed guests with more than 1 million performances, provided by over 3,000 musicians and 2,000 performers who have worn 226,000 unique costumes.

Foodies have experienced more than 14 global cuisines, 75 dining menus, and 20+ beverage menus. Guests have also had the opportunity to participate in 7 culinary classes like Sushi & Sake pairing and cupcake decorating.

Additionally more than 194,000 birthday wishes have been granted and 800 weddings have been performed. The world class service onboard every ship has been provided by more than 67,000 crew members who represent 138 countries.

In some ways, Royal Caribbean is just getting started. This month, Star of the Seas will begin offering more memories as she sails 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages from Port Canaveral. By the end of this year, the cruise line will open its first-ever beach club–Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas. By the end of 2027, the cruise line will open three more private destinations Perfect Day Mexico and Royal Beach Club Cozumel in Mexico and Lelepa in the South Pacific.
