MSC Cruises’ MSC World America has successfully completed her final sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean. She will be handed over to the cruise line in late March 2025 becoming MSC Cruises’ 23rd ship.
The sea trials focused on the ship’s engine performance, maneuverability, fuel consumption, safety systems, navigation equipment and propulsion and speed. She will now undergo her final outfitting at Chantiers de L’Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire, France.
The 22-deck World Class MSC World America will debut with re-imagined venues and be tailored to the United States market–a combination of European style and American comfort. She will feature seven onboard districts which will include 19 restaurants and 18 bars and lounges. She has four main restaurants and two buffets, along with two exclusive venues in the MSC Yacht Club and six specialty restaurants.
Guests will enjoy new dining options including Paxos serving Greek cuisine, the only Eataly restaurant at sea serving Italian cuisine, and new complimentary casual options for every palate. MSC World America will feature two new lounge concepts–the All-Star Sports Bar and The Loft. The All-Star Sports Bar will offer an all-American atmosphere complete with bar games while The Loft will offer comedy and karaoke.
MSC World America will be named at the cruise line’s new cruise terminal at PortMiami on April 9, 2025. She will then sail a celebratory voyage to the MSC’s private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas. Her official inaugural season begins on April 12, 2025, when she begins sailing alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages with ports of call in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; Isla de Roatan, Honduras; and MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve.
Like her sister ship, MSC World Europa, MSC World America is powered by liquified natural gas (LNG), is equipped with shore power connectivity, and has an advanced wastewater treatment and recycling plant on board. MSC Cruises is planning two more World class ships–MSC World Asia to debut in 2026 and a still unnamed ship to debut in 2027.
