Royal Caribbean Reveals Name of Third Icon Ship

Royal Caribbean has revealed the name of its third Icon Class ship–Legend of the Seas. She will first debut in August 2026 and offer 7-night Western Mediterranean vacations from Barcelona.

After her summer European season, Legend will arrive home to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She will then sail 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean itineraries beginning November 2026. Every sailing will include a call to the cruise line’s award-winning Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.

“On the heels of celebrating one year of the record-breaking Icon Class and the memories made by vacationers of all ages on Icon, we are thrilled to announce the name of Royal Caribbean’s third Icon Class vacation,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “Legend of the Seas is the next bold step in this exciting era of vacations and the continuation of the Icon Class legacy, and we look forward to bringing the revolutionary lineup of experiences to more families and adventurers across Europe, the Caribbean and beyond.”

Legend of the Seas deployment to the Mediterranean is the first time an Icon class ship will sail outside of the Bahamas and Caribbean. Her Caribbean itineraries will feature the ports of Aruba, Curacao and Falmouth which are not visited by her sister ships.

Currently under construction in Turku, Finland, Legend of the Seas will be the best combination of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas which is still to debut from Port Canaveral in August. While not many details are known about Legend of the Seas, the cruise line has revealed she will feature eight neighborhoods, more than 40 ways to eat and drink, and many of the same attractions that were introduced with Icon of the Seas. Some of those attractions include the largest waterpark at sea, Category 6, the Crown’s Edge thrill ride, the Swim & Tonic swim-up bar, the adults-only Hideaway, Surfside, and the Ultimate Family Townhouse.

Sales for Legend of the Seas will open soon with Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members having access to early booking beginning tomorrow, February 20, 2025.
