Margaritaville at Sea recently posted on social media that the cruise line’s Islander, which is undergoing a major renovation at the Harland & Wolff Shipyard in Belfast, Ireland, “passed her sea trials with flying colors (and a little luck of the Irish)” in the Irish Sea.
Just three days later, another social media post showed the crew working on the ship’s livery, which was inspired by the sun, sea and sky. The short clip stated Islander’s livery was complete and ready to show off in June and that more updates and reveals were on the way.
When the Margaritaville at Sea Islander sets sail from Port Tampa Bay in June 2024, she will offer four-, five-, and six-night “Mexico Quickies” and “Keys on the Mexican Water” itineraries to Key West and Mexico. The year-round itineraries include ports of call to Key West, Florida; Cozumel and Puerto Progreso, Mexico; and one or two sea days. Beginning in 2025, the ship will offer six- and “Limited-Edition” seven-night itineraries that will add ports of call in Costa Maya, Belize, Ocho Rios, and Grand Cayman.
The ship’s 11 different stateroom types include more than 700 balcony-appointed rooms. All the cabins aboard Islander have been completely renovated into a “perfect island-inspired retreat” including Margaritaville’s signature bedding, pillow and linens.
Margaritaville at Sea Islander has the first three-story poolside LandShark Bar, the Caribbean Amphibian Splash and Slide, the adults-only Tiki Bar and Pools, a 14-story tropical atrium, and more. She features five complimentary restaurants, seven specialty dining restaurants, and 13 bars and lounges.
Islanders complimentary restaurants include the new Mexican Cutie Cantina, the main dining room, Fins Dining, and fan favorite, Cheeseburger in Paradise Burger Bar. New to the ship’s specialty dining options are Far Side Sushi, the Islander Dining Room, Island Eats, and the Tiki Grill located inside the adults-only Tiki Bar. Additionally, signature favorites JWB Prime Steakhouse, and the 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar were added to the ship’s public areas.
Margaritaville at Sea is currently offering Kids Sail Free plus 50% off all cruises and is always offering limited “Heroes Sail Free” cruises.
